Welcome to DS, peterson10016!
Which is better - well it depends on what you're using it for. For gaming, it's starting to look like Win8.1 is pulling out front. There are tons of comparisons and because of it's support for DirectX 11.1 & 11.2, it really does improve fps - sometimes dramatically depending on your hardware. If you're using it anything else, I don't really think there's a clear winner (although Win8 is more efficient with background processing). To be honest, I only use the Win OS for playing games. Perhaps there's another here that in chime in the performance difference between Win7/8 when using it for daily tasks... Edited by fstcvc - 11 Nov 2013 at 8:05am |

Both are good now to be honest. If you're buying a new PC, you might as well go with Windows 8/8.1 (same thing with an update on Windows 8).
