Cooling system for AMD HD 6990

LOL I would highley recommend you don't get a 6990, you will spend more money and get less performance and more heat then a cf 6970.

for those kinds of cards I recommend LC, and here that means you have to put the cpu so for one card you looking at stage 6 lc, cpu and one video card.


With LC the case is really up to you, I love my case and recommend it for systems with LC on cpu/gpu.

Ya its a little more expensive but,

1. you can always get one here and order the other from newegg.

2. the 6970 will oc higher and run cooler, so in short even if they did cost more, you are getting more.

Now I ask you this, do you even need that much gpu power to begin with? what is your res?

the cf 6970 would run cooler so no LC is not needed on those IMHO, its not needed on the 6990 either, but if you want to have good temps with those dual cards, you need more then the stock cooling.

The 150GB VelociRaptor 10000RPM HDD is a first generation VelociRaptor, it's slower than standard 1TB HDDs. Don't be fooled by marketing, a HDD is a HDD is a HDD, they're all slow as dirt compared to a SSD, which will have literately 50-100 times better small file performance and latency than any HDD, and about twice the sequential speeds.

Get a SSD for OS/apps, and maybe games if you want to sink enough money into SSD space, then use a standard HDD for the rest of your games/movies/music/media. Never bother with overpriced VelociRaptor drives.
