Is there a way to find out what brand of component is used if it is not specified by DS? For example I got 2x GTX 980 in my build but it doesn't list a brand. Does this mean it is just a reference model? Thanks for any input.

If no brand is mentioned, it could be EVGA, Asus,, MSI, Zotac, etc, depending on what they can get. Doesn't necessarily mean a reference as some have thought that and received a overclock ACX card with the various models. DS won't send you less than you ordered but the same performance or better.

Well, look at it to begin with to determine if it's reference.
And most of their GPU's are either EVGA or ASUS. Though there is a chance it could be a random other brand such as Zotac or MSI. If it's a reference model, then it is what it is. Bright side about reference vs after market cooler models. Reference is cheaper and is the typical choice for water cooling builds. As bprat said. Reference is reference regardless of who it's from. |
