Building my 1st Rig, need advice!

Hello DS Techno-wizards, I welcome all comers with good advice for my new gaming rig that I will be building hopefully (money willing) at the end of this year. I will be retiring my DS built rig to fulfill my dream of building my own. I'm looking for hardware match approvals/disapprovals and compatability advice if you see any problems with the choices. Thanks in advance!
 
Budget: Between 3-4K
 
Use: Typical multimedia activities videos/photos and LOTS OF HIGH END GAMING! Drooling
 
Special needs: Future proof, this one needs to last a while!
 
Case: NZXT 810 Switch
Mobo: Asus Sabertooth X79
Cpu: i7 3930K Sandy Bridge
Cpu Cooler: Zalman CNPS11X 
Gpu: Nvidia GTX 680 2gb
Ram: G Skill Z 1600mhz (8gb)
Psu: Corsair Pro-series Gold AX1200
Ssd: OCZ Vertex 4 240gb (x2)
Fans: Aerocool Sharks & Silverstone Air Penetrators
 
Going to stick to Air Cooling - If I OC, it will be on the lower end of the spectrum.

Nice rig.

However, I would recommend the Intel 520 series over the OCZ, and depending on how many monitors you will be using and at what resolution, I might recommend 2x670 in SLI instead of the 680.

I am not familiar with the Ram you selected or the CPU cooler.  But the RAM slots on the X79 boards are right up against the CPU and on both sides of it.  So you need to make sure you have clearance.  Using low profile memory sticks solves this issue most of the time.  Going with a liquid cooler, something like the Corsair H-100 alleviates this problem. 
 
If you look in the gaming section you will see that the GTX 670 is really close to the GTX 680 in performance.

Going with the GTX 670s will save you money and get almost the same performance as the GTX 680s.
 
The PSU you selected is very good put looks to be overpowered for your equipment.  You could go with the Corsair 1050HX and still have plenty of power for 2 way or 3 way SLI with the GTX 670s or 680s.  Take a look at the power consumption charts in the 2 way and 3 way sli review above.  Also the 1050HX comes with a 7yr warranty.

Thanks for the input guys. Very good advice, you rock! The cooler should have adequate clearance and as an added measure, I will go with the G Skill Ares low profile RAM.

As far as the SSDs, according to the early reviews, the OCZ Vertex 4 is using a new controller that has solid reliability over the Vertex 3s Sand Force 2 issues. I guess there was a degradation issue with Windows 7 and the Sand Force 2 controller.
 
I was considering the GTX 690 until I saw the cost. Graphics prowess aside, wow that is a cool looking card!

Thanks for all the advice Asangard. I'm going to take your advice and go with the GTX 670s in SLI. After researching your links, I'm going to go with the Seasonic SS 1000W PSU and 1 Intel 510 SSD at 250GB. My second drive will be one of my current WD Velociraptor HDD at 300GB.
