Wasn't sure what forum to put this in. When I try to install GTA IV PC on my main computer it gives me some error about speech files but allows me to ignore it and continue on but at the end it doesn't recognize disc 1, and I've tried a million things with Rockstar tech support to fix this, but to no avail. When I try to install on different computers, it gives me the following error:

Feature : Grand Theft Auto IV
Component : GTAIV_Dynamic
File : E:\GTAIV\data2.cab
Error : Data Error (cyclic redundancy check)

Does anyone have any insight into this? Rockstar tech support has not been able to help.

Sounds like a bad CD/DVD, they won't replace it?
 
A way you might be able to get around this, copy the contents of the disks into folders on your desktop and launch install from there.

help! here please...

i have the same problem T_T

the error appears when the file script.rpf and scripted_speech.rpf and the error says.... "INCORRECT FUNCTION"...

please anyone can send me that FUC**** files...  Angry

and how can i continue installing even if the error appears...

help me people please....

if this is a legal copy then try cleaning the disk, if that does not work you have to get another copy.

i installed the game x10 but those ***** ERRORS appear always @_@

my pc spec.:
3ghrz processor SP2
1.7 RAM
256 Graphic card


is it? 3ghrz processor SP2  = DUO 1.8 processor?

hey man i have the same problem too.. but the corrupted file is differrent from the oter guy..
please help me man could u send me the files
"pc\audio\Sfx\radio_afro_beat.rpf" and
"pc\data\maps\jersey\nj_liberty.img" :D
it would really help allot.
if you could, pls send me the cab thingy aswell :D

Easy I had that problem as well my fix Slapped it into my other DVD drive.

Its an issue with the drive there are certain brands that dont work with the install.
So anyways if you have 2 dvd drives like myself use the other one very easy fix.  Cant remeber where I read about the bum drives.  But thats all it is really.  If you only have one I do not know any fixes.
