best monitor/ speaker system

not exactly sure of my desk size, like the opening I have to put a monitor will check that tomorrow. Im going to be running 2x 670 gtx sli in my system so what is some good suggestions for monitors. I would like to keep it under $500 if I can for the monitor but I want it to look goooooooood. I already know keyboard im getting its about $150, and mouse is I think around $40. Want to stay around 1k so that leaves about $300 for speaker system so also what are your suggestions on the speakers? all this will be bought in the month I have to wait for computer to be sent to me.

A couple of monitors to consider would be the U2312HM Dell UltraSharp and Asus PA238Q 23" monitor.   Both IPS,  which means nice color and clarity. 
 
The sli 670's will max out almost everything on the 1920x1080 resolution they have.

Yea I wanted to go higher then 1920x1080, I know these babies can handle higher resolution

I have the HP 30" IPS monitor and it works great. If i was to replace it i would go with the Dell 30". 2560x1600 is pretty sick. ;) I use a pair of bose computer speakers and they work pretty good for me.
