Hi Folks,
I've been trying to decide on a case once I get set to order in the next couple of months (waiting for the i7 4790K chip).  I'm more than likely going to air cool so I'm looking for some of the better options for that.  Looking at the options DS has, it would seem the Air 540 is now the best air cooling option?  While I like the look and it gets pretty solid reviews, there does seem to be a potential issue with heat on the power supply/hard drive side.  Is this the best option DS has in stock for air cooling?  Does anyone know?  I was all over the Haf-X until DS decided not to sell it.  Cry  Thus, currently I'm looking at the Haf-X and the NZT Phantom 820 but figured I may as well expand the search as I'll have to special order it potentially.  I'm not thrilled to special order as that's money that could be going into the components as opposed to a stocking fee type of thing but I figure I may as well do some due diligence.  I'm fine going full tower but I also don't want to spend crazy money on a case as some of these cases can get pretty extravagant.  I'm figuring up to about $300 or so is pretty much as far as I want to go.  Any input is appreciated. Thanks for your help!

The HAF-X 942 is a great case. But the Carbide Air 540 is amazing. It's a great pick up. Your PSU shouldn't produce too much heat, and most nice psu's now a days (especially the corsair) monitor their heat/temp automatically to turn on and off their fans. As for your SSD's and HDD's. They also shouldn't be generation so much heat to worry about. Honestly, I'd put those fears away.

With the Carbide Air 540, you can load it full of AF120's and AF140's with is Corsairs high air flow fans. I'd even drop a nice Corsair H100i at the top of the case with some SP120's. You'll have some great air coming in from the front and top, and exhaust through the back. Amazing positive pressure to keep dust to a minimum, quite, and good flow.

If you want air, I do recommend the Air 540.

Easily overlooked, but the 540 does have 2 drive cages below the mobo for primary drives. Plenty of air there.
