Hi xii,

I am not sure which suggested system you are referring to. I went back and numbered the configurations so you can say specifically which system you are asking about.

All of these configurations are good system that will play games to the max on a 2550 monitor. Because you are not budget limited there are all kinds of options. We usually recommend a system with the best performance that the budget allows. I think you need to make some choices so we can zero in on a system that fits you.

1. Do you want a Cryo-Tec system, a full LC system or a combination system?

2. Do you want the Aventum Case or the Hailstorm case?

3. Are you going with the Dell 30" IPS monitor?

The basic components are pretty easy to chose once we know what you have in mind. I may have confused the issue with so many configurations but you have a lot of options with your budget.

Everyone of the configurations I have suggested will play games at high settings including the 4-core 3820 CPU. A 6-core CPU just does not buy you any more performance for gaming unless you over clock it to extream levels. We don't want to do that.

Hey Frank,

Thanks for your advice as usual.

I was comparing system 4 and system 5.

As far as which cooling system I would go with, it really depends - do I want one over the other? Is one a better idea?

As far as the case - I really do not care. However, I wanted to contact the company because I want to Lasermark both sides, I want to put the Digital Storm logo and name on the "window" and a custom graphic on the side panel. I also want to have the case painted all white if possible, maybe even the inside of it depending on what they think the reaction to UV light would be.

About the monitor itself - would it be a bad idea to game on say, a plasma TV? If I do go with a monitor I would go with that monitor assuming the MS response time was low enough?

Thanks again.

Xii,

Comparing system 4 and 5. As far as playing games you won't notice any difference between the two systems in performance. The only difference is the CPU cooling. The Cryo-Tec will keep your CPU cooler but the LC system keeps it cool enough for a long life. That assumes you have a relative cool environment where you keep your computer. Below 75F degrees. The Cryo-Tec is a unique cooling system for the CPU and if you want the latest and greatest then it has the edge. I suspect after your warranty is up the Cryo=Tec will be much more expensive to repair if you have a Cryo failure. I don't know that but Alex would.

The Hailstorm is a great case for LC. It would be a good choice. The Aventum is brand new and I have never seen one. It seems to have a better setup for the radiators you need for a LC system. I don't know the price of the Aventum but I assume it is more money than the Hailstorm. You would be satisfied with either case. You have stated you want a showcase system and to me that would be the Aventum. If for no other reason, no one else has one. It is a big case.

With this system you do not want to be gaming on a TV. TVs have limitations that a monitor doesn't have. A bad idea. I think a Plasma is a particularly bad idea as they have burn-in problems.

@Alex - when you get some time Sir, can you tell me exactly what the liquid cooling system provides as mentioned in posts above vs the cryo?

Is the fluid all inside the case or does it have an external container in regard to the LCS/Cryo.

The fluid is all inside the chassis for both cooling systems.

The Cryo-TEC version is our ultra high-end cooling solution where we take the processor below 0'C for higher overclocks and performance. If you select the Cryo-TEC option, we do that to the CPU, the video card(s) and chipset are liquid cooled using a high-end waterblock and 420mm radiators.

Well - I made a photo.

Just a quick one mind you.

Good idea?  Should I stick with the normal one?
