Comp specs, I52500k Nvidia 560ti 8gig of ram.

Considering everyone is recommending the Dell Utrasharps I am looking to buy the biggest size my current vid card can handle.    

My current monitor is a DELL 2001FP about 6 years old 1600 X 1200, would it be worth upgrading? What size monitor could my video card comfortable push out graphics?

Recommendations?

Hi wkroll...your setup could handle the 23" 1920x1050 resolution Dell UltraSharp U2312hm monitor or equivalent IPS.   Not sure wht you play but most games on high would look great.   Skyrim on Ultra would also work.

Since your monitor is already an IPS, I'd say there is no reason to upgrade unless the picture quality seems to be poor compared to other monitors you've seen.

wkroll.....your setup will play those games real nice on the monitor you have and the 1920x1050 I mentioned.

Hi wkroll,

I think it is time you move up to a new monitor. The 2312HM would be a good choice. You have old tech and the viewing angle is only 88 degrees. The 2312HM viewing angle is 178 degrees.

Now if money is tight you could stick with your old monitor but I think you will like the new one a lot better. It will be bigger, better back light and way better viewing angles.

I have dual Dell U2711 (2560x1440) and am very happy with them... I would without hesitation recommend them to anyone.

what do you get for fps running bf3 on those 2 monitors, and what settings do you run ultra. also do you notice any lag etc because of the slow response time of the ips

Ultra settings, low 40's and I don't have any issues with the monitors

could you tell me what you get for fps on just one monitor running bf3. see i am up in the air between 120hz and an ips monitor. does it just look amazing the picture quality

I wanted the Corsair 550D, but DS said it was too small for the ROG motherboard... I wanted the ROG so I can add another 680 down the road. The recommended that I switch to the 650D.

Just tried one screen and the fps were approx. 150...

What did you decide to purchase... I agree on the 240, should have gone for it...  found a nice feature that I didn't know was on the 650D, a hot swap sata 3 port, under a sliding door on the top.  Allows you to plug a drive to fast copy... or back up...
