Hi everyone, I purchased a DS system almost 2 years ago and I'm wondering if there is a reason to upgrade yet. I play mostly games and just wondered if a new system would give me a good boost. I haven't been keeping up much with much since I bought my system so I'm a little confused.  Below is what I currently have:

i7 3770k overclocked to 4.2
16GB RAM
ASUS P8Z77-V Deluxe Motherboard
Nvidia GTX 780 ti super overclocked
128GB SSD
1TB HDD
Windows 7 - 64bit

Thanks Big%20Smile

Wow... that's 2 years old?  Better than my brand new Vanquish.  Whoa

I guess it depends on what your wants and needs are for upgrading.  If  you just want generic gaming (on highest) it seems that you're good for now.  If you have specific needs that push the machine perhaps it's time.

Hi JohnD.. your rig still looks great to me.

Nothing better yet, so I'd save your cash for another year or two. There are newer mobo and cpu but they're only small bumps in performance, unless you see a feature you really want or need.

Enjoy.

I think you need Windows 8.1 for more games. i7 3770k overclocked to 4.2 and Nvidia GTX 780 ti super overclocked, it didn't caused overheat, did it? Upgrading might mess some specs so kindly check for compatibility first.
I have the best gaming laptop for under $1500.

My system has always been very stable. Digital Storm built a fantastic system. I did have to lower the OC from 4.4 to 4.2 to get a few games to run, which was fine. I don't see myself upgrading the operating system while I'm still using this system. The GTX 780ti actually runs cooler than the 680 classified I had in the system which was good. I guess I just wasn't sure with the specs I currently have, if buying a new system would give me a significant upgrade to what I have.

You did a great job putting it together and DS building it and it's still about the best by even today's standards, 2 years later.
