I currently have 6 gigs of ram in my system. Three 2 gig sticks. I want to add more ram and would lime to know if I can just replace one of the 2 gig sticks with one 8 gig stick. So I would basically have a slot with a 2 gig stick, another slot with a 2 gig stick and one slot with an 8 gig stick. For a total of 12 gigs.

What I am unsure about is if I can add the 8 gig stick in with the 2 gig sticks. Do all the slots have to have the same amount of ram in them? I mean do all the slots have to have 2 gigs in them or can you mix in an 8 gig stick with the 2 gig sticks?

Also, I would like the to update my video card. Will newer cards work with my current mother board? I have a EVGA X58 LE edition SLI (Intel X58 chipset).

What is a decent card for like 250 or 300 dollars?
Core i7 930 3.8GHz OC
EVGA X58 LE Edition SLI
12 GB DDR3 1600MHz Corsair Dominator
SanDisk Extreme Pro SSD
GeForce GTX 760
Noctua Dual 120mm High Performace Cooler
Creative Sound Blaster Z SBX S card
