On my new DS lappy, I had them put the Seagate Momentus XT hybrid driveas my main drive. My question is...

I usually set my Microsoft Security Essentials to run a scan once every week. Should I NOT do that with this hybrid drive? I'm wondering if it somehow affects the adaptive technology.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The adaptive memory controller is designed to attempt to analyze what disk sectors are accessed most on the 500GB disk portion and mirror them onto the 4GB flash cell. It's perfectly fine to run that scan.
