I can't wait to get my VANQUISH computer. I have never played games on high settings. I had a piece of sh*t from some Office Max or whatever, and have only played World of Warcraft for basically 7-8 years on low settings. Anyway, the customer support is absolutely great. I was chatting with Brian Benoit and he gave me solid, sound advice.

All I ask is for packaging to be more secure. I just don't feel comfortable because I've seen delivery guys kick boxes or throw them over a fence (if anyone of you knows about this story: a USPS man threw a package that was fragile over a fence, it must have been a plasma t.v., and the surveillance camera caught the whole thing on tape). We need robots to do this kind of job.

My Experience with Digital Storm:

Well, where dŒs one start with these reviews?.... I guess I'll start with the build... I ordered the ODEv2 Level 1 on a thursday and they recieved the information that day and began processing it. My PC entered stage one on friday and stayed there until Monday the 5th of AUG. From there it went from Stage 1 to stage 5 in just ONE day. Needless to say I was pleased with how fast it was going and was checking in every hour to see if it had updated lol. Anyway...

The next day, it was into stage 6, final QA check etc and moved to stage 7 that same day. DS was not messing around when it came to completeing this build... Wednesday it finishes but dŒsn't ship out until thursday the 8th. Moving forward to the 13th(monday) I recieve me PC . I could barely contain my excitement as I lugged this massive box down my slim hallway into the office. I quickly tore open the box to find my PC unscaved and in perfect condition, at least physically anyway... I then proceeded to do my own QA and ensure the connections were all completely seated, and there were (Good job DS QA!!)

I plugged it in and it started up like a bat outta heal, loading to the desktop in a mere 20 seconds which is the fastest I've ever seen a PC load. With little hesitation, I began trying to install games. First, SWOTR --- Install failed.... Then Star Craft 2 --- Install failed could not write.... Then world of Warcraft --- Install failed, could not write.... Then Resident Evil 5 -- Install failed couldnt write.... It was at this point that I knew I had a problem... I recieved my PC after 5 PST (6:30 my time) so DS tech support was closed. I posted on the forums and within 30 min Alex, and a few others began posting on my issues and giving me things to try in order to troubleshoot why it wasn't installing. From here, I'm going to skip ahead because describing all of the steps I tried would take up an entire PAGE of this forum :p

As it turned out, it was a bad stick of RAM that was determined through MEMTEST86. DS's top Tech (Richard) stuck by me through this endeavor and up until that point he thought it was the harddrive due to the spikes in the Evaluations report from HDTUNE. I let him know of this new result and he immediately spoke to his supervisor to get a second opinion on pushing ahead to get new RAM sent to me. Not because he wasn't sure, but because he likes to get a second opinion. That being said, he pushed it on through and I now have another 8 GB of RAM on it's way to save my PC. The good news is only 1 stick of my Corsair Vengeance ram was bad so I'm still able to play all of my games and install everything perfectly fine with 4 GB. Was this experience disappointing? Yes. Is it fixed now? Yes. Did DS tech support acknowledge me the 50 times I called them? Yes, and they returned my calls each time with enthusiasm and willingness to help. The bad stick of RAM was simply out of their control. Hardware just fails sometimes regardless of how many hours you stress test components.

AS a recap, I'm going to Bullet style why you should buy from DS

- Customer Support: Even though their hours aren't necessarily ideal, they're very helpful and quick to return calls and concerns, even if you impatient like me, you'll be happy with their promptness and ability to help you out

- Quality of Their PCs: Even though I had a bad stick of RAM, everything else was TOP notch to include the interior components when it comes to wiring and how well everything is put together; I've YET to see a company with better quality than DS.

-SPEEDY build: They don't mess around for 3 weeks when it comes to building a PC for you. That to me says that they care about their customers because they have a similar if not the same passion for gaming and PCS as their customers do, so they want to put out a well built, rock solid machine for you as quickly as they can manage in order to maintain that high quality and great customer service.

Those are just the 3 main points that I could think of off the top of my head, which a still 3 BIG main points by the way, but the bottom line is, You're going to be HAPPY with what you pay for when you buy from Digital Storm because in the end, I know I am.

Hi Jwee1125,

Welcome to the DS Forum. If you read through this long thread you find many, many happy customers. You will also find many forum members who own DS computers over in the Configuration Forum waiting and willing to help you. This forum and DS are not like others that you may have done business with in the past.

One thing you should consider is buying another year or two of warranty just for the peace of mind. The normal DS warranty is for three years support and one year of parts. The additional year gets you four years support and 2 years of parts. DS also provides lifetime support. So if you have a problem you call DS and they will try to help you solve your problem. You just won't find a better warranty from any other computer company. You will also find as you read through the Forums that the members here help to solve many problems and are a great source of information.

I have to admit right out of the gate that feel like I'm taking another shot in the dark here. I have researched and read reviews and researched some more trying to figure out where (or even IF) I wanted to buy another computer from an online retailer, much less another laptop.

Let's just say my last "power buying" adventure left me with a bad taste in my mouth and a $1600 door stop about 3 weeks after the 1 year warranty expired. I'd had issues with the thing since day 1, but being an experienced tech support provider with the "DUDE! You're getting a..." company, I figured out a way to get by the minor inconvenience of an overheating issue. That is until my wife needed to use it and forgot the USB powered cooling fan that I had been sitting on up to that point.

So here I am again, preparing to take a leap of faith and go with Digital Storm. The way I have it figured is, if it lasts 3 weeks longer than my last one, I'll still have a year, 10 months, and 14 days to get it worked on, eh?

Technical support is great. Even have initiative to get back to me before I got to them.
I recently had a problem starting my computer it would hang during boot at initializing marvel & couldn't get to the bios. So I used the jumper to reset the bios which erased the overclock it came with. I emailed support asking what setting they used on my computer so I could put it back properly. Richard emailed promptly & gave detailed step by step instructions to reapply the profile on the computer. After getting to the profile list I decided I would wait to do so as summer in the central valley is here and my computer room gets to 85 degrees F. so I never replied about whether I had fixed it.
Two days after his 1st email, Richard emailed me again wondering if I had succeeded in getting everything fixed. He also sent screenshots of the various bios pages showing the settings for the overclock on the computer they sent me.
Now that is customer service. Digitial Storm (or at least Richard) is going all out to make sure you are happy with your computer.
I can't see myself ever goimg elsewhere for another computer. Great customer support is a rarity these days. So when you find it, you know you're dealing with a company that cares and that's who you want to deal with and forget the rest.

Have been using my DS computer for 9 months and still loving it. Recently had a problem where it hung at marvel initializing on boot up. Called DS and Carlos walked me through the act of correcting it. Very pleasant & knowledgeable guy. Had no problem following his directions, was able to explain the steps in non tech. Took no time at all to correct my problem. What a great company, won't go anywhere else for a prebuilt computer. Sorry for above post, new at this.

I am a single dad on a tight budget in need of a new computer. I've been looking at all the websites out there and Digital Storm seems to have the best reviews that i can find. I've had a Dell XPS since feb '07 and I have to say it's been great up til now but it's starting to slow down a bit and actually can't play the new games that are out due to the hardware just being outdated. I'll be placing my order with DS shortly after i type this post and for once i'm actually excited to be spending money!

Irony is that a DS employee created a post telling you why you should purchase from DS. Why didn't he just say so he could get a paycheck? Don't get me wrong, DS is great, very personal and tries their best. But sometimes, however, in some cases (like mine) they're best is just naive. I won't get into this but while talking to DS I felt over educated and over qualified. They did try.

Ah yes, cat hair. A computer technician for another company once was convinced my laptop was having mobo issues because of pet hair and dust build up (the caveat being that I have no pets, lol). He was so positive of his assumption that he told me they wouldn't cover it before he even opened the case (because it was hair and dust and thus my fault). Needless to say, he opened it and there was not a speck of dust in there, his embarrassment was quite pleasing, haha. Some companies just are pains to deal with, luckily, thus far my experience with DS has been as smooth as silk.

Another reason to buy from DS..

Just read of a 'blankity blank' pc maker that refused to fix a laptop because of cat hair inside. He posted pictures 'blank' sent to prove their case. I guess in excessive cases even DS, maybe but probably not, might consider it, but this cat hair problem seemed minor. I've pulled card cages and power supplies and wiring terminals apart loaded with dustballs and hair in wharehouse settings that covered the components and was never the cause of the problem.

Sounds like any excuse not to cover warranty.

Sorry but that model dŒs not support that specific graphic card. Each model has specific requirements for cooling, etc... the options listed in our configurator for our laptops are the only ones we can use. However, for our desktops, we can special order anything for our customers.

Ordered the top prebuilt ODE last month and was pleasantly surprised to have it 30 hours later. Showed up 10:30 am and ready to play by noon. Was gaming rest of the day and well into the night & was amazed. Blazing machine. Currently playing Alice-Madness Returns, Tomb Raider Underworld & Oblivion 5th Anniversary. Frame rates are phenomenal TRU - over 200 FPS, Oblivion 60+ FPS both with all eye candy maxed. Some reason getting only 30 FPS with Alice. Still looks good, so haven't bothered checking my settings yet. What a machine! Lovely to look at - great cable management, just a very clean looking machine. Love the binder that came with it. Has all CDs and info about your computer together if you might need it. Don't think I'll ever deal with anyone else and will definitely be recommending Digital Storm to all my friends.

You're right, it's not because we believe in charging twice the amount we buy items for, at the time of release, the game was much more expensive, we only had a small mark up of around $10-$15 on the item. The game didn't sell that well, so the pricing that was in the system was marked up from our cost price. I shared this with the team, and we're selling the game now at a loss to us, but, at least we can move some of that inventory, so thank you for bringing this to our attention.

We wouldn't like anyone to pay double for anything, if we were doubling the prices, we would not be providing the best value in the market. Our goal is to offer systems that are not priced too cheap, where we have to cut corners in testing or customer service/support, and not too expensive, where we're just trying to sell an overpriced system. We do our best to keep our markup costs low, and include our overhead costs for the extra testing, quality checks, and customer support/service. We always check our pricing compared to our competitors, and we're definitely priced fairly well when you compare the overall total system cost after customizations.

We do not void any customers warranty for upgrades. We understand that our customers may make changes to their system in the future, and with that in mind, we do not void any warranties if a customer chooses to do so.

@davep - True. But if I was expecting a $25 steak dinner, but some place had it for $40, I'd wonder why it was more. I think he saw a couple components marked up more than usual and assumed everything was that way. But everything's not that much, and the whole system is quite a value for what they provide.

As for movie concessions (MW2 for my analogy), what's the value-add? Giving me something that someone else made dŒsn't really justify a large fee for me.

Why buy from DS? Here's my expereience. I live less than a half hour away from DS. When it came down to choosing where to buy my next PC, it was between DS or Maingear. I really liked the Shift, but with the DS "back to school" sale and the extra 10% off, the Shift came out to be several hundred dollars more expensive than a comparable build from DS. I also didn't want my system to go through the 3000 mile journey to get to the west coast. I know everyone dŒsn't live that close to DS, but that was one of the deciding factors in my decision, so I feel it's relavant. Plus if anything went wrong with my system, heaven forbid, DS is close enough for me to drive up there and drop it off, not having to worry about shipping it off to the east coast.

I decided on the Black Ops Assassin because of the FT02 case and the fact that it's one of the more quiet cases out there with good air flow, my previous PC was just too noisy.

I ordered my system online on Saturday August 13th, knowing that the order wouldn't be seen by DS until Monday morning, I just couldn't wait. As soon as DS opened on Monday the 15th, I started getting emails about the progress of my system. At the end of the first day I was already at stage 4 of my build, WOW I thought, this is awsome. I had originally ordered my system with a Corsaif HX1000 power supply, but the HX1050 became available at the end of the day on Monday. I called DS just before they closed and requested the HX1050, since it was the same price as the HX1000. I was assured that it wasn't too late in my build and that the change would be made. Sure enough, it was.

Anyways, my system was ready for local pickup on Thursday morning August 18th. It took only 4 days, I really was expecting it to take longer, so I was thrilled that it was done so soon.

I work only 15 minutes away from DS, so I picked it up an hour after it was done. I did have a little problem finding the right building, there's no big Digital Storm sign outside the building. The tech who built my system came out with my system and showed me the internals and showed me the changes I requested, which was unexpected and a very nice touch I thought. He then boxed it up and took it out to my car, and off I went.

Just for fun, I priced my components throught New Egg and it really wasn't that much more expensive to have DS build my system. I did't have the time or patience to build my own system anyways.

I've had it for over a week now and I'm very happy with my purchase. The build quality is superb and it runs great, quiet and cool. I took advantage of the "back to school" sale and the extra 1 year warranty upgrade, which I thought was a good deal. Getting constant email updates on the progress of my build was really nice. A very positive buying experience in my opinion. I would definitely buy from DS again.

I don't consider myself a gamer. I do mostly graphic work in photoshop and video. I like to play WW2 games, so when that happens I want something good to use. I picked DSO, because gamers in general have higher standards and needsm, then the rest.

Next if I going to buy something I want it to be made by people who do it day in and day out.

On pricing you can go out and have a steak dinner and pay $25.00; yet how many times do use hear someone say, "How come you guys charge $25.00 for a steak dinner, when I can go to costco and get the same steak for $12.00?"

And how many of us get ripped off at the movies when we buy popcorn? How many times do we complain we are being overcharge?

When you buy any product which has quality and service, you are paying for it. Any product that is hand assembled in America, is labor you are paying for. Any product which is pressure tested uses equipment and expertise to perform these tasks. You don't complain about the steak. You don't complain about the popcorn. So why complain about what you are getting?

In a way, it was good that a little bit of drama happened. I'm sure that Mojo isn't the first to believe the prices are high, but he actually put DS fans to the test. Thank you!

While working at a scout camp, I would come visit this site, partially to try to expose to others what a computer company, or any company, should be like. One staff member said I should build my own, or get one from some other company. I told him that DSO has kept a A+ rating with the BBB. I also told him that theoretically I could build my own, but I would need help with it. I don't drive so it wouldn't be worth it, when something messes up during the build.

I do wish that DSO had regular pc's as well, that way people could get DSO's excellent quality without having to get a gaming pc. I'm technically a borderline gamer, but I want a Digital Storm pc, because of their excellent quality & support.

i5 dŒsn't outperform overall, but it's decent given the price, for now.

As games get more multi-threaded (I think DX11 added or improved multi-threading; then there's all the stuff other than graphics the game dŒs), the i7 will pull ahead. Also, the more background apps/OS stuff running, the more i7 will help.

Fuse, you've got a point there. Honestly, that's why I am here. I can and have built plenty of systems, but you pegged it. I've had bad video cards, memory sticks, CPU's, I've seen it all and none of it is a big deal, but it's definitely something I'd rather not have to deal with the run around on, for sure. I could theoretically order all my parts and slap them together with no problems, but seldom dŒs life work out so perfectly in PC building.

On a different note, I see everyone around here opting for the i7, even the ODS systems mentioned above all come with the i7, but I'd pretty much made my mind up to go with the i5 2500k because it out performs the i7 2600k in gaming, the big difference being hyperthreading offered in the i7 which I see as unnecessary because I don't really do much/any video editing. Are there any considerations for the i7 as it pertains to gaming that I may not be aware of?

That kind of service is unmatched, especially at this price-point. I don't even have to send my PC back to get it fixed? That's brilliant. I literally just built an i7 system with SLI 570s, so I'm perfectly capable of it, but that build also had a bad stick of RAM, a bad CPU and still has issues with the SandForce controller on the SSD. Between cross-shipping and multiple full-afternoon trips to the nearest Fry's and MicroCenter it took a over a week to get it up and running (many of those days fully devoted to the build), took well over 10gal of gas, and the SSD still BSODs occasionally.

Or I could take a step down on one part or so and avoid all of those issues... It's incredibly tempting, even for a broke fool like me.

And for the value of the ODE line. Markup is low (I think <10%). It's pre-built, but I think you can customize for a fee if you want them to do it.

Keep in mind the base DS warranty is for 3 years labor, 1 year defective parts.

Mojo, I'll try to address some of your points/concerns.

First of all, do not compare DS to [removed] or [removed]. Those systems may end up being a little less $ wise, although not necessarily. However, the components, build quality and support will not be close to comparable. That is the reason I did not include them in the list of other custom PC builders in my post above.

I do not believe adding your own components will void the warranty, unless it can be explicitly proven that they caused the problem in the first place. So adding your own memory, an additional GPU in SLI etc will not cause any problems. In fact, many people on these forums will advise you to custom build a system with only a single GPU and a motherboard that supports SLI. Then when needed, add your own GPU by purchasing it at Newegg, Amazon, etc to save money.

If price and quality are your major concerns, look at the ODE systems from DS (http://digitalstormonline.com/compspecialdeals.asp). You will not be able to beat these deals anywhere.

Finally, I can understand Rice's response to you since your original post could definitely be interpreted as an attack on DS. It was worded in such a way that seemed extremely judgmental and insulting to those who are DS customers and the company itself. With a post like that you had to expect similar responses.

If I can get three years on the whole thing and keep my component warranties, I'm okay with roughly 25% markup for the peace of mind. I have another question on that topic though, dŒs the warranty lock me out of my case? For example, say hypothetically I'd like to add a couple sticks of memory once I get my new system, do I have to ship it back and wait, or can I just turn some screws and pop them in myself and still retain my warranty?

Thanks sdwas. I have kinda been shopping around, that's why I said that I was originally excited to find Digital Storm. I've custom built systems in the past, but I was hyped to find a company that used the high end parts that I want. That's always been my issue with the HP, Dell, Alienware companys is that they kinda cheap out on the parts as long as the system specs on the side of the box are there, who cares what's inside... Well, me. lol

Rice just annoys me with his bulldog-esque fanboy defensiveness. When I'm trying to figure out what exactly makes Digital Storm so attractive to what I gather is a group of similarly hardcore PC enthusiasts. I'd be lying if I said that it didn't kinda sour DS for me a little, and as tempted as I was to just say to hell with it and wander away I felt there might be something worth sticking around for here at DS. It's just tough to figure out what that might be with flies like Rice buzzing around. You're driving business away douche bag.

As for less expensive, [removed] dŒs seem to have a little better pricing, but I can't see that they have the same reputation Digital Storm has, but again that still seems to be for intangible reasons, definitely not thanks inpart to the [removed direct profanity -- Alex] over there.

The DS warranty is for the system. You still get the manufacturer warranty on the components.

Of course you can build it yourself for less money. However, yourself is the key word. I think you need to compare apples to at least another comparable fruit (pear maybe). Compare a DS build to one from another reputable system builder [removed list of competitors, sorry we're a business after all -- Alex]. In most cases DS's prices are typically better. Furthermore, DS always uses high end parts. Finally, I cannot speak to the customer service at these other companies since I've never experienced it, however, I can say that it has been excellent here.

If you can find a custom built system some place else that is significantly less expensive than here, please enlighten us.

Well, my logic looks a little something like this. If you look under CPU coolers, look at the Noctua and right beside it there is a (+ $150). The video card prices take a little math, you add the base fee for a video card from the system you elect to customize, and then you look at the GTX 570 and the +/- and you either add or subtract that number as indicated by the appropriate mathematical symbol. As for MW2, they ought to do something about that. It was actually MW2 that made me throw my hands up okay that's enough. Not that I was really planning to buy the game period.

I heard about Digital Storm, and I was excited at first because of all the hype. However, I've looked around the site and forums. I am a little dumbfounded by all the great shining reviews, and I honestly must be missing something. I was configuring a system, and noticed the prices seems way too high. For example, I'd like to know how you justify charing $70 for Modern Warfare 2, it sells for $35 on amazon. The video card that I was looking at, GTX 570 for $400? That's $100 more than I'd pay for the part from newegg or amazon, hell I could probably get a better price at BestBuy. The cherry on top, Noctua 6 CPU cooler, $150 here, but it sells for $75 on amazon. You guys seem like you're gouging people on every single component. I'm just curious why people are so happy about it. Maybe someone needs to pass me a cup of that Kool-aid. I mean I read that the support is great and everything, and that sounds cool, but I mean honestly unless that support means oral sex then how are you justifying what seems like ridiculous up charges on everything?

I can only postulate that the reason you guys are so well reviewed is that anyone that has a clue laughs and quickly clicks away from the site never to give it a second thought much less a bad review.

hands down this is 100% accurate. This may sound wierd but you know how it feels when a computer breaks or isnt working. That feeling wont ever happen because you know digital storm will be there to make it right until its running 100%.

Oh man, I know that feeling too well with this old outdated machine I'm on now. And it totally blows. It's a helpless almost apathetic feeling for me. Bordering on depression. I hate it. And when I first begin to realize something's wrong I get this hot panicky feeling.

I never want to experience those feelings again.
That's why I've been so careful of where to buy my upcoming PC. I've never been a PC gamer, only a console gamer, but that's strictly because I've never owned the hardware to do so. I really want to change that. I'm just hoping that by the time I can come up with the $3K or so I can still get a badass machine from here to run all the hottest games coming out. Hopefully this will be around February 2012.

I didn't know where else to post this, so I figured I'd post it here.

I stumbled upon this company/site just this morning while looking for a place to order a good, gaming quality custom built PC.

I'm not really experienced enough to build my own, as I only know how to do simple things like change video cards, hard drives and that sort of thing. So I needed to find a place to make me a good machine.

Of course the only place I really knew of was Alienware. I'd contemplated buying a nice gaming laptop from them, but then I began to realize since I really didn't care about the thing being portable, I'd probably be better off with a desktop.

But I wanted a company I knew I could trust, and get a good deal. Well while I don't yet have the cash to buy my machine, and probably won't until the beginning of next year, I think I've found my place.

This place seems more than adequate. I've been reading nothing but positive reviews about the customer service and the hardware itself. So I think when it comes time to order in a few months I'll be shopping here.

I have to say DS by far has the best rep out there with gamers.I had a dell now (7 years old xps) that has just died and needed to replace the rig.This is when dell made soild PCs which is no longer the case.I have looked at many sites offering good builds ( cyberpower, ibuypower,ect ) and they all felt just like Dell ..... make money and could care less about customers.You can also bet your last dollar that an american that can speak english will answer the phone when you call them unlike the other help desks (dell) which was a huge selling feature for me.This company (DS) seems like they truely care about what they are putting out.Been going back and forth for a month looking at all kinds of new rig configs on all the big PC makers.So far DS has the best rep, build config, and products so they got my vote.The other sites maybe a little cheaper but poor people cant afford to be cheap.Atleast i know i bought the best and have no doughts this rig will last me a minium of 5 years.Placed my order a week ago and the rig is in stage 5 atm.God cant wait for this rig to show up Configuration:

well, I purchased from DS about 2-3months ago, and I can tell you the quality of this computer is beyond my expectations. The computer run flawlessly only with minor trouble of hooking up thye fan. I never had any computer run so trouble free and quite, especially with air cooled system. Hopefully I wont need a new system in 3-5 years but when its time to order, I will certainly be back.

PS its great that I can write this computer off as tax deductions LOl.

Really. When I first started with computers many years ago I heard whispers of future machines and software coming down the pike in the future but I never quite believed I'd get there. Now I got there. I bought a new DS Assassin featuring the i7 and Nvidea GTX580 over X-mas for myself.

I had a serviceable quad core HP pavilion with new power and a new gtx475, 6 gigs ram...ect But this Digital Storm system is on an entirely different level. I bought 3 Terras of Seagate USB-3 external and not only can I game with full game settings on and high frame rates ; I can also record with Fraps to my external, full Fraps settings, at a smooth 30 to 50 fps.

And everything is in harmony with this Assassin. Controllers, joysticks, keyboards, Track ir, monitors. This is the best computer I have ever owned.

I'm really impressed. And the warranty lets me sleep at night. The best $2,000 I ever spent.

In April of 2008 after intense comparison and research w all the boutique pc companies I went w Digital Storm for a mother of a gaming pc. At the time as big and first tier as they could be.

Q9770, 1200 PS, Sli pair 280's,custorm painted case. All top of line in 2008. I absolutely love this machine. When you get cutting edge components, you also have to deal w a little tweaking.

I just got back my TJ10 ESA hunter green machine after service from DS. They absolutely do what they say, put their money where their port is, honor their committment. They REPLACED the pair of 280's w a pair of new 285's. They took out the old MB, even though it showed to be ok and replaced w a new one at my request, to make sure machine was functioning at 100%.

When you go to buy a designer machine, make sure that you're getting the 'insurance', and that the company will honor it. You may be able to find a build a little cheaper, but will that company answer their service line like they do the sales? Will they fix the machine like it was their own?

Quality in gaming computers is not just flash and dash. Quality is endurance and longivity.

DS is a rarity in PC builders, technical knowhow, good price and service. They honor and do what they say.

I just wanted to correct the fact that our '3 Year Limited' Warranty has life-time customer support, 3 years of labor coverage for service jobs, and 1 year on part replacements. This is also covered clearly in our 'Warranty Information' page under the 'Company' tab at the top of the website: http://www.digitalstormonline.com/warranty.asp

Anyone can always upgrade the parts coverage to a two year for only $99 more, or even three years for $199 more.

Also, we do extensively test all of the components inside every system before they leave the facility. If there are any defective components, a majority of them are weeded out during testing at our facility. Some may pass our tests now and fail later, and that usually happens before the first year of service anyways.

The reason why we state a 'Limited' warranty in this fashion is because we've had many individuals ask us why our pricing was higher than some of our competition and they didn't understand the difference between a '3 Year Limited' warranty and a '3 Year Platinum' warranty. We decided to level the playing field in order to offer lower starting price points.

We're working on a new easier to use 'configurator' which will directly have a link to our 'Warranty Terms' page to ensure anyone that is interested in more details of the 'Limited' converge can quickly and easily read up on it.

Hello Kraven and anyone else choosing between Cyberpower (CP) and Digital Storm (DS). I have never bought from DS but I have bought from CP and I made a great rig except the fact that the thing rarely ever worked for more than a matter of minutes at a time (sometimes more than 20 BSOD's a day). I did repairs on this thing for a year now because I got tired of having to send it back to CP everytime I received it back ( I eventually ended up buying my own parts from newegg to fix my probs as well). I guess the good thing was that I got good at fixing my PC LOL. However, my suggestion is that unless you like pulling out your hair and replacing almost every part of your machine for CP then do not buy from them. I am not saying this in any defense for DS because I do not know their customer service and quality of work but I know CP and I am thoroughly disgusted with them. oh and the Warranty at CP is only for a year which is not what they advertise (read the fine print I guess).

I wanted to add my customer service experience with DS. After 2 happy years my PSU went bad. A new one was sent,but the computer still would not boot. After talking with tech support,it was determined the mobo. also was bad. Replacing the mobo was beyond my skills,so RMAing it was not an option. Alex gave me a good price for shipping the unit back to DS.I admit I was impatient about getting the computer back,but it was worth the wait.. Not only was the PSU&mobu replaced,but also the 500mb hardrive. I received the unit on 8/18 and was very impressed with the work that was done. The computer is like brand new! I am totally impressed with the quality of DS tech support&customer support. You can be sure that my next system will be from DS!

So I've been thinking about just building my own computer when I ran across this site. I'm a big wcIII and SCII player and am looking for a high performance computer. Now, I don't know as much about pc's as some of these other guys but I do know that the fact that these computers actually come with a warranty that is BACKED is good thing. What I'm wondering is how good of a computer will I be able to get with a 1500.00 budget, my brain is almost fried from looking at so many so a little advice on what to get for a good price would be welcome. But seriously very first time I glanced at a DigitalStorm rig it immediately caught my attention! But initially their Black|Ops lineup is amazing but was just a tad bit out of my price range... Till DS came along with the 'Special Deal' systems which were priced aggressively to compete with the 'others' (this was another deciding factor for me) luckily I was able to catch the memorial day deal which offered the 4yr warrantly at no additional cost. But seriously these 'special deal' specs are awesome and with DS awesome build quality and customer service I see no reason to go elsewhere... unless you're easily distracted by flashy sites and the tease of free offers and what not, that I believe just tends to shroud the fact that the other company(s) performance and customer service (lack of a better word) sucks!

So as most of us did we shopped around the 'other known' botique stores... I believe it took me up to a solid three months to pick DS cause it took me that long to sit in the other forums and read about their rig performances once it was shipped as well as their customer service or lack thereof not only that but no matter if you have unlimited funds or if you worked and saved hard for your money if you're dropping 2K - 5K on a system that costs almost as much as a used car it is your duty to do your research before diving in! I know I do not need to name names as we all are pretty much aware which other botique stores are out there... To make a long story short, after reading up on the DS forums and drafting a build and posting it for advise, I was immediately assisted by the awesome and experienced forum members, these are not even the DS employees, just loyal and senior members that don't mind spending a little bit of their free time helping out new coming customers. and this is just the beginning...

Once I had my build of choice ordered and sent to DS for initial review, they're customer service system kicks in. They automatically send you an initial e-mail about the order confirmation as well as DS re-reviews your build from their side and makes sure that each component you have spec'd out works with everything else in the system you have selected. If that wasn't thorough enough, they offer you right away different options to contact them and they respond almost instantly (depending on how busy they are of course)...

Then if there were any changes/add-ons that you wanted done, all you have to do is contact them and you're invoice is sent back with the updated build spec and price change, you have to approve the changes first but thats a good security precaution on their side.

So far I have been dealing with Sarah, which like a couple of replies above said she is Fantastic! and they were training a new rep named Jessica she was cool as well... now I know I did not mention other names because I have not had direct interaction but If Sarah & Jessica's performance represents DS, then I can guarantee that you will have nothing to worry about Customer service wise and you can expect to be treated professionally with very satisfying results at the end...

That's the extent of my interaction with DS so far i'm stuck at Stage 3 of the build... But If you are a new comer and you're thinking in the back of your head like we all did before... stop contemplating and join the forums and see for yourself, you won't regret it!

I actually bought a computer from Cyberpower. The experience is one I DO NOT wish to go through again in this life time. I bought a computer costing me about $2,500. When the computer arrived it was horribly configured. The water cooling did not work, and they used a broken MB. Every time i turned on the pc, it would freeze. I sent many inquiries and had to wait weeks just to get a response. Also there "solutions" to my problems were absolutely ridiculous. I actually had one employee tell me that they used bad RAM to build my pc and that was the cause....

To make a long story short, DO NOT BUY FROM CYBERPOWER. ITS A WASTE OF YOUR TIME, MONEY, PATIENCE. And IF ANYTHING IS WRONG YOU HAVE TO PROVE THAT IT WASNT YOUR FAULT.

I would like to reply to your post, but I must be obtuse or something because I don't know who StarStarStarStarStar Gaming is, exactly. I'm fairly new to the forums, but it seems to me we don't have to be that shy. Especially since you already mentioned Cyberpower.

I want to chime in because I spent about 9 months researching all my options for buying a system, and I think I learned a lot. First, I was waiting for Widows 7, and then I decided I might as well wait for my tax refund, so I could spend a little more. All things considered, I think I got a good deal from a classy company with a top of the line warranty. But the deal maker had to be the 4 months or so I spent lurking the forums. NO ONE disses this company! A complaint pops up every now and then, and is immediately addressed by posters, and then resolved by management! The true veterans of the forums, who have posted hundreds of times, never hesitate to refer people to DS staff, often by name, in full confidence they will defeat any issue in short order. That's not just "great" customer service, it is the DEFINITION of customer service. Any company that runs this good an operation and engenders this kind of loyalty, frankly has earned my money.

BTW, I haven't even got my system yet! It's 2 days away.

Understanding where I am posting this and the relative objectivity that can be expected, my question is this....why DS?

It seems that it comes down to Customer Service and Quality - which are the two most important issues when deciding.

Now, I agree that 90% of the time you get what you pay for - which means going with cyberpower...well good luck with that. But when talking about a well built rig with great customer support, it seems that there are really two names that stand out to to me (and I could be way off). First, there is ***** Gaming and then there is Digital Storm.

My sincere question is, when comparing rigs or companies, what sets DS apart from ***** - or rather, what makes DS superior to *****?

I've had a desktop since April 2009 made by Digital Storm. All the components were top of the line at that time. TJ10 custom painted green, Intel quad 9770 water cooled, pair 280's, you get the pic. DS put together w exactly what I wanted.

Lots of heavy stuff. Like a rigged out sports race car, the new top of the line components are high maintenance. Just the way it is.

The pc I have has had 2 Nvidia 280's goof up, one in summer of 2009 and one this month. Alex, Eric, Richard all at DS took immediate care of me. Instead of shipping big heavy pc back I had friend at computer store diagnose prob, and sent only the faulty card to DJ, who replaced it w one that worked.

No 'this not our problem', delay, bureaucratic 'who did you talk to' crap. Just fast efficient warranty service w no hitches.

So if you are looking for a 'boutique' computer, before you go with another big company, when you compare prices remember to check reviews. You'll see that DJ addresses tech probs head on and fixes right then. Other companies unmentioned do not.

When I brag on DS it is not hype its the truth.

I decided to buy a gaming PC from a different company. I looked at DS and thought I could get the same system elsewhere for a little bit cheaper. Unfortunately, that PC is going back after I experienced a minor problem which caused me to rethink the purchase overall.

Right now, I'm waiting for the UPS man to pick this one up. Also waiting for the DS sales rep to call me back so I can place my order! The three year warranty found here at DS cannot be beat!

Amen. You guys honestly give the best customer service I've ever known in my life. Honestly, we get to talk to a real person. A REAL, person. (gasp) And the rigs you guys build aren't bad at all either, they're way over what the competition dŒs. The one thing I like that sets you guys apart for me is custom overclocking. No other company I know of yet dŒs that custom for any and every rig customized at the site. DS FTW!

Any faulty RAM or Video Card, seriously now, is that really their fault? I'd think that the card was just simply faulty out of the factory, considering all the precautions they take when they break in the systems prior to shipment.

Unfortunately i have had issues with my Hailstorm, LG player failed, and now one of my hard drives failed. However DS responded promptly to these problems and so far has been very helpful getting me up and running. Just wish they had a facility here on the East Coast.

the forum really stands out here .. the interaction between DS/DS customers is worthwhile and if you have a question, expect to always get an honest answer. most, if not all, here are respectable.

i've never had to call DS except the day i ordered. since then, i'm here in the forum.

Digital Storm has the best customer support and I can understand them when they speak. Also the computers are amazing and they did everything to make sure my mahcine was perfect within 30 days. Sometimes you get faulty Ram and Video cards but they resolved it so fast.

I'll tell you why you shoul dbuy Digital Storm, this is by far the best computer for the money that I have bought! Granted, this is the first computer I have had custom built for me! The guy's at Digital Storm are a class act! They keep you updated on what is going onthrough your order, and are amazing! I just recieved mine a few weeks ago and it is running flawlessly. I am probably not using it to it's fullest as of yet, but I am running it dual boot with ubuntu 09.10 64bit and windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and it runs perfect! I priced shopped and looked around for 6 months before deciding on Digital Storm! These guys got their Sh** together and are great! I'm not disappointed yet, and when it comes time for a new computer, it's definately going to be these guys!!

Well Alex, if you are willing to pick up my rig and bring it back

(4000 miles round trip) it would be great.

Unfortunately there is not a carrier I would trust more than once

to get my rig to me undamaged.....and I have the wooden crate!

Unless the owner lives in California I don't see this as a great

advantage for buying upgrades from DS :(

August 07 I made the big leap at DigitalStorm. I haven't seen the blue screen of death yet.Not once. The most interesting part of my relationship with DS was lurking in forums and picking up real usable information. Most of the posters sounded like they knew their stuff and when they stumbled-man was their a quick response. I shopped in many places and kept using the forums to document what I was being told. I changed hardware after the build had started, and caused several other challenges. The phone conversations were friendly and I still love my machine.I received all the discs (and more) and have been singing praises whenever anyone notices my good looking box.

Thanks for the response. It always amazed me that some of these "High-end custom gaming" companies would charge you for software and then not supply the install disks, not even Œm. I don't need the manual necessarily, but if I bought it at best buy I'd be able to install it on all my computers. And some of those programs cost more than what I could have purchased them for elsewhere.

Anyway, thanks for the reply. Now I just have to save the $$$.

Well, when I paid the $3k plus for the system I bought from Alienware years ago... I thought the same thing. Not the case. You get a set of recovery disks, which they charge you more for, and an incomplete XP recovery only disk. So, you couldn't do a fresh install on another system if the one you had died. If that machine bites the dust, your purchased OS and software gŒs with it. It came with a great booklet describing all your hardware and software, the recovery disks, and support disks that contained a "custom driver package" for your machine. I think the only original disk I got was the MB disk, but I find those things are next to useless most of the time anyway. (I did say "next to useless, I know there are some necessary things there)

I have an issue here, and I'm not sure if it's addressed anywhere. I appreciate the ghost DVD for restoring a system. However, I always feel at least a little sting when I purchase an operating system, or any installed software, and don't get the original install disk. DŒs DS include OS and other purchased software disks with the system or just the restore disks?

Not trying to throw a downer on the party here. But the last time I paid $4k for a system and didn't actually recieve any of the original software I had paid for, it kind of rubbed me the wrong way. It just seems like such let down to me to do everything big and then skip out on the software. If I actually paid for Power DVD or whatever semi useless app all the way up to, and most importantly, the OS... I don't feel like I should have to go out and find another copy becuase my laptop happens to be lacking that app. You get the picture.

Any takers on this one?

Had a few humps with Digital Storm, but nobody's perfect...

There's probably even a few $25K(+) 64 core Cray CX1s that had teething pains...

The bottom line is that they CALLED me back FAST and STAYED on the situation, until a new deal was struck and everything was as straight as two temporarily opposing parties can get...

Keep in mind that they don't keep all the money you pay for the machine. Parts, equipment, rent/mortgage, payroll, insurance, gas, electricity, phones, etc. aren't free...

If you price out their AMAZING "Power and Value" unit:

(with all the assembly, testing, shipping, etc)
...I'd say that they might even be LOSING money on it!
(If you're going to buy a high end system, better grab that one quick, I did! They probably can't keep that promotion going forever!)

Bottom line, even though I was very difficult to deal with and I'm sure that their work days are no cake walk... They stuck it out with me!

Haven't received my replacement machine yet, but I am VERY confident in this company and I am POSITIVE that no matter what happens, they will stand behind their product and respond very quickly to anything that might turn up.

Save yourself a lot of aggravation and buy a Digital Storm!

2 years ago, my brother bought a custom PC from cyberpower. For one year this 2.7k machine did not preform like it should have. Bad quailty 110%. Than, One year down the line, It won't turn on. "No big deal" my brother says "I'll just call customer service and they'll fix it." Well, guess what. He sent it in and they sent it ack saying it was "fixed" but the thing was still borken. Pissed mt brother calls them up and they say "Nope we definatly fixed it." Aparently not. So my brother practicly rips this guy a new a-hole, but still, no results. You can imagine what happen nexted. Well, actually, your wrong. We gave the thing a burial, I kid you not.

Anyway, heart broken, my brother needed a new PC, and, on a whim, his roommate had just bought a new DS PC for 1.9k. The computer not alonly outpreformed my brothers old PC, but still runs like new today.So my brother buys a new DS PC. Hes so happy he dŒsn't slepp for 2 days. It not only came a day early, but had been unscraced and it made he so happy, he stayed up for another 2 days (lol).

So the moral of the story is Buy DS. Be happy.

Well now its my turn.My budget is 1.7k ish. The model I'm looking at is . 306089 . Perfent for my price, and also the colors will make my friends envy it. Any recomondations for what I should get or change about it. I have looked into it and I think it suit me well. (the space on the harddrive dŒsn''t matter to much, I use my family PC for anything other than gaming, the games i like the most are TF2, Portal, HL2, L4D, to name a few)

Just got done ordering a very basic pre-configured model to replace my 7 year old PC that bit the dust.

I initially had browsed the DS options a couple of weeks ago because they did a stellar job two years ago with a custom build I ordered for my brother for Christmas. Incidentally he came to me a couple of months ago with some problems with his computer, and I wasn't even aware that there was a Restore DVD included with the computer. What a pleasant surprise that was! Restored his computer to the factory install with little intervention, no headaches, and about 2 hours of time (mostly waiting for it to restore).

I bypassed DS this time with the mis-perception that they only had 3-4k options available currently and I didn't really need a high end gaming PC. What a mistake. I ordered a computer from Dell, it came in with a damaged case, and the quality was pathetic. Trying to get decent support proved a battle, so I returned it.

Next up I gave Cyber Power a shot......another huge mistake. Took 3 weeks for them to get it to me, and it wouldn't power up at all. I tried to get in touch with them on a weekend, only to find out later that they took Thursday-Sunday off for the July 4th Holiday. Being I have no tolerance for MIA support, I just shipped their computer back and cancelled the order. they never answer their phones, even on weekdays.

I then came back around to DS and much to my surprise, they do have lower end models and I found a preconfigured deal that was right up my alley. After placing the order, I quickly realized that I had committed an oversight with respect to the Operating System. I needed Vista with Remote Desktop for work and side jobs, but I ended up with Premium (no RDP). I filled out their online form and James called me back very quickly. You're not the only one to take the time/effort to make a thorough assessment and compare other computer companies to DSO...what can I say--it's an eye opener.

Too true...the three-year contract is worth taking into consideration...and the choice of 4 and 5-year can bring real peace of mind.

There were several differant factors that ultimately led me to buy a DS computer.I literally researched ten computer manufacturers by cross referencing them with the better business bureau and looked into customer reviews both on the manufacturers web site and additional web sites.Digital storm was the only computer manufacturer that had an A+ rating with the B.B.B.Now common sense told me right then and there that you dont get a rating like that by screwing over your customers.Then i started reading customer reviews from all the computer manufacturers.Most but not all of the manufacturers reviews that i read were literally horror stories.When i read the reviews from digital storm,(it was like a breath of fresh air).Those reviews were made by happy,satisfied customers who were very content with thier purchass.Next i liked the discounts that digital storm offers,and lets not forget the three year warrenty.Another thing that i admire of digital storm is thier employee's who are willing to help you out,and go that extra mile when you really need them.I feel that i made a educated decision by choosing digital storm for my gaming computer manufacurer.I also feel confident and safe with the digital storm brand.

well, i purchased 1 of the pre-configured systems, (power and value on home page) as my funds are limited. However, i will be able to upgrade in the future as needed, so will probably add a higher watt PSU in the future for SLI. Also, i will probably add a SSD in the future as well,but the system should hold me in good stead for the time being. Thanks for the tips:)

I would change the 285 to a 275 since the difference is 4 fps but the cost of the 285 is much higher. drop the 1TB HDD and go with a veloci instead or a ssd, much faster and better seektime.

Thank you DST4ME, i appreciate it. I believe i did make the right choice, and cannot wait to receive my new comp and test it out. I have been a hardcore gamer for years,( i played on a commodore 64 way back when) and the system i use now was built by myself, so i am no stranger to the inner workings of a computer. Hello to all, i am a new customer to Digital Storm, and just recently ordered a new PC from you.Matter of fact, as of this post,was ordered yesterday :) I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the system, and your sales representative was very helpful to me. (Patient is more like it) and answered my questions without problem. I had been researching several PC companies for what i felt was the right choice,both in the system i wanted, and the level of care i would receive. You think you have found better place but you will learn your lesson when you get your PC and its not all its suppose to be, what place has the same quality and price that is cheaper? I know all the PC builders and there is not one that has better prices and bents over backward to satisfy the customer.

if money is all you worry about then go ahead and waste your money with those other cheaper places, but once you realize why they are so cheap and lack quality, don't come crying to us

the price of nothing has gone up, if you look hard enough you will see what is going on.

BTW you have been following DS for years and this is your first post? are we suppose to believe that?

What will make me buy from DSO again is how my computer still works even after a long shipping journey.
I got my box and it looked like the shipping guys took it for a bobsled ride down a row of tires and then stopped it with a fishing hook then decided to do their math homework on it.
After I saw that I was almost sure there would be some kind of problem. Got the comp, put bios on default and ran last good config and it worked very good from there.
Been running it on left4dead, WoW and soon Crysis. I have it on 30 percent of it's power on balanced mode and still trucks through with the highest settings.
It's an awesome machine because of awesome building/packaging.

ds is competitivly priced , i have checked all major game builders . what

i found most unusual is that my system was packed with the utmost care ... and a list of all test run where enclosed..

I have had my rig for a year now and couldn't be happier. Sadly, mine did arrive at my door with a major buggy mother board and I had to send it back. Was I upset...yup. But, did Alex and the rest get it fixed and later over night it back to me, YES.

Has it preformed well every since and even exceeded my expectations? Yes.

Bottom line, I am a very demanding customer no matter what I buy. I want only the best and I am hard to please and am a sales staffs worst nightmare.

I can tell you this... DSO has me as a customer for life and I recommend them to anyone I know looking for a new, custom rig.

You can pick any product you find on newegg.com or any other computer site and DSO will order it (you may have to pay shipping) and add it to your rig.
