soniccharger`s XTU score - Rookie League 859 marks with Intel Core i5 4690K at 4488.3MHz Core i5 4690K rank: 588th out of thousands http://hwbot.org/submission/2818119 Also, I overclocked the graphics card to see what it could do. I scored a respectable 9131 on 3DMark firestrike. Better than 89% of submissions. I did not get extreme because I wanted the OC to stay below 65C temps and not exceed 73C on pure stress tests and in real world application. Using the Z97E motherboard and air cooling with the Corsair 600W p/s, I limited myself. I really wanted to push it to the max but don't want to void my warranty. After this test I took everything back to the settings it came with from DS. It started at 836 marks @ 4.2Ghz on Intel XTU and that is fine for gaming and very stable. For those considering the Vanquish lvl 4 - this thing ROCKS!! |

4.4 Ghz sounds great. I could get my 5930 to 4.5 Ghz, but I was not convinced it was fully stable at that speed, and I felt I needed to run 1.39 Volts to do it. I think I backed my daily speed down to 4.3 Ghz, after crashing in some games, which is plenty fast I think
Been meaning to see if I could run 4.4 Ghz in Civ Beyond Earth to speed up turn processing a bit :) |

I used Intel Extreme Tuning Utility and ASUS GPU Tweak. Both had a one-click overclock with a default recommended setting and manual profiles. Manual tweaking worked best for me. The Intel default seemed more unstable than my settings and the GPU Tweak default had better PhysX score but lower Graphics and overall score. |

I couldn't help thinking I could do much better than 859 marks. I did some research, a bit of trial and error then benchmarked again with Intel ETU and HWBot Prime. 910 marks on Intel and 5905 on Prime @4.3Ghz. For some reason when I saved the BIOS profile it overwrote the one DS saved. Hopefully they have that documented somewhere. Edited by Pacesetter - 18 Apr 2015 at 11:00am |

I love this computer and just can't help playing with it! Got 926 marks today with a 5955 on the GTX970. From what I have seen in the rookie competition the ones higher are sandbaggers. What rookie uses liquid nitrogen? Thanks DS for such a sweet toy. |

soniccharger`s XTU score - Rookie League 952 marks with Intel Core i5 4690K at 4710MHz achieved 4.7 Ghz and stable but have to stop there. Core temps got above 90C and that is a bit too toasty to run all the time. I can see liquid cooling in my future. |

Are we having an overclocking-off? Why didn't anyone let me know a competition was beginning. -_-
What are the rules? Highest OC %, highest scores, high OC in general? Nice seeing you guys playing with some OC. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one around here who just spends days OC'ing for fun. I'm finishing a new "rebuild" for someone. Same CPU, new motherboard, memory, and GPU. I can get his 5930k to 4.6ghz @ 1.345v 24/7 Stable. But if I bump the voltage up to 1.39 I can get it to stay on long enough to validate 4.8ghz. I'm trying to work with my base clock and core clock multipler now to see if I can maintain a 4.7ghz OC on it without down clocking my memory. Really not trying to recalculate my timings to hold a 4.7ghz. People running LN2 are getting 6950x's over 5.2ghz. So I'm starting to get hopeful that new batches coming out will be binned better giving me a 4.5-4.6ghz OC when I buy mine. *fingers crossed* |

Keep an eye on Silicon Lottery and you'll get an idea of the stable overclock range you can expect to see. Right now it seems like the low end (at least 88%) maxes out at 4.2GHz and the high end (top 19% -- slightly less than 1 in 5) maxes out at 4.4GHz. Edited by - 23 Jun 2016 at 3:31pm |

I am not sure what determines a good score, but here's what I got.
CPU: 4690K score: 921 Marks core freq: 4.2 GHz cache freg: 3.9GHz vcore voltage: 1.105 (according to MOBO and intel extreme tuning) I have the Noctua NH D-14 installed, the test maxed my heat at 57C, but prime95 (28.10 build 1)on max heat takes me up to 74C(fan fluctuates between 100% and 85% and keeps it less than 75). Idles are at 34 ish because I keep the fans down. I did not push my computer's limits for voltage:clock, I took someone else's score and added 0.05 Volts to it. Very stable, I did the intel burn tests on very high and got good results. Edited by jakethomas97 - 05 Dec 2016 at 10:40am |

I guess they don't let me post picture links. Anyways, my second pass got 927 and my temps got to the 74C like prime95 does.
Same clocks, 4.2GHz core, 3.9 for cache, 1.105V vcore |
