I suggest dual 980 Strix for your gaming processing needs. I am very happy with mine, and they overclock very well for me

5920 is all you need for a processor, and that will save you $200. 5930 doesn't seem of much benefit even with 2 way SLI

For 3-way monitors, not sure, but 980 SLI might work, and should be in the budget. Maybe there's some benchmarks out there for such a setup

The problem with the EVO SSD is the 840 model. You should be OK with the 850 EVO. However, the 850 Pro is the smarter buy if you got the money.

So I just configured this, based on some new information over the past couple months. AC went in the house, which pretty much depleted my gaming rig fund. But now, all is well again and I'm ready to order. Folks able to look at the below and advise? This a better value now over build 1173102 I had earlier?

I feel good about it, just wanting that reassurance from the community as to which would be better.   

Not a hard decision to go with the 6700 as the Skylake class supports DX12.

The SLI'd 980's are overkill imo, and might be better served by a single overclocked 980ti. Many games either don't support SLI, or act strangely.

With a single 980ti, you'd save a ton of $$$ (almost $400), and could get a 500GB SSD, as thatsmall SSD will probably fill up pretty fast.

With a single 980ti you could also get a smaller & much higher quality PSU, like this:
